FlexRadio Ecosystem
Did you know?
The Tuner Genius XL and the Power Genius XL are fully interlocked with Flex radios on transmission, assuming you have all 3 devices configured for a LAN connection.
When the radio receives a PTT, it sends a message to the tuner and the amp via ethernet asking for permission to transmit.
The tuner and amp do the things they need to do to make themselves ready, then send “OK” back to the Radio. This gives you some amazing hardware protection with minimal delay.
Once the Radio is happy, it transmits or you will get an InterLock error.
All this in the blink of an eye!
Power Genius XL
Power Genius XL v3.7.28 Released
We released new firmware for the Power Genius XL on January 4th. Updates include:
- TouchScreen configuration allows you to configure the PG XL from the front panel
- Remote use of the PGXL Utility program
- Simplified CAT Interface for OEM radios
- Band data sources can be selected manually or automatically.
As well, there are many bug fixes and performance improvements. Details can be found on the FlexRadio Community.
Tuner Genius XL
Tuner Genius XL v1.1.16 Firmware Released
4O3A released new firmware for the Tuner Genius XL on January 10th. Updates include:
- Screen capturing
- Improved FlexRadio integration
- Touchscreen activated
- Improved Interlock operation
As well as many more bug fixes and enhancements. Details can be found in the FlexRadio Community.

SmartSDR 3.4
While we had hoped to release v3.4 by the end of December we were not able to make that happen in time.
However, the work continues by both our engineering team and Alpha team.
A release candidate for v3.4 is scheduled for early next week barring something new showing up.
The challenging thing about software development is that you never know when you’re at the GA point until you get there. It might be sooner than you think.

Accessory backorder update
Thanks to our FlexRadio customers, our Holiday Deals promotion was an overwhelming success. Adding to on-going global component shortages, the demand for some products exceeded our expectations and our inventory. We know that these shortages can be frustrating and that’s why our teams are working hard to resolve them.
- INRAD DM-F 3.5mm + RCA cable – this cable is often used with INRAD DMS-629 and DMS-650 microphones when connecting to FLEX-6400/6400M and FLEX-6600/6600M series radios. We anticipate having stock again within the next week and will be shipping as soon as it arrives.
- Remote On Plug and Play Kit – components for the kit have arrived and we’ve commenced shipping. Our online store has been updated to allow orders to be placed again.
- FlexControl Knob – Now back in stock and should be shipping soon.
