To Our Valued Customers,
You may be aware of the serious shortages in global supplies of parts and materials currently affecting a great many industries around the world, from automobiles, to appliances, to building materials. Unfortunately, these shortages – amongst other logistical issues – affect our ham radio hobby as well, affecting our brand and certainly our customers. The worldwide situation has made keeping up with the demand for our products very challenging. In some instances, this has resulted in extensive delays in the fulfillment of orders. The length and cause of these delays varies from product to product on a daily basis and we’ll be addressing each in the content below.
I want to be up front with you about this topic. Please know that our whole FlexRadio team is working diligently to improve the situation and that we are doing our best to manage this on a level of personalized commitment – from our manufacturing floor to our management team, everyone in our organization is committed to get every single unit on back-order in our customer’s hands as soon as possible.
Please reach out to FlexRadio at info@flexradio.com if you have any additional questions. I want to take this time to personally thank you for your patience and loyalty and know that our whole team looks forward to fulfilling our commitment to you.
Sincerely,
Matt Youngblood
CEO
Product updates
FLEX-6000 Series HF Transceivers update
Our production line has been down on all radio builds since mid- May. Our expectation was that our downtime would last four to six weeks based on the component delivery dates we were expecting and that we would be shipping by early July. Unfortunately, our line has been down longer than expected but we are resuming production this week. It will take a few weeks to catch up with the backlog, so watch your email for notification of your invoice.
When you placed your order, even though we took your credit card info, it was only an authorization on the card. We do not actually charge for your order until it is ready to ship. Unfortunately, since it has been more than 30 days since many of our customers placed their orders, we will be reaching out to you again with an invoice for payment.
Maestro update
For those customers that either have a Maestro on back-order or are on a waitlist for this product, we continue to experience significant delays and component supply shortages. Our last update on Maestro assumed that we would be able to begin shipping products sometime in the 4th quarter of 2022 but based on recent information from our suppliers the delivery date is likely to continue to slip.
Engineering has been working on qualifying new components, but the more significant challenge is the replacement for the display. We have been dealing with suppliers that have lead times as long as 52 weeks. We’ve had several iterations of working on engineering changes to accommodate a new display only to have the supplier fall through on the order.
With the popularity of this product, we are committed to getting this back to market but our new expectation for shipments to begin is now mid first quarter of 2023. If you have any questions please email info@flexradio.com with the subject Maestro and someone will respond as quickly as possible, typically within 24 hours.
Antenna Genius update
The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the Antenna Genius, SkySat, also continues to experience supply chain delays on certain components. The AG is one of those products impacted by significant lead times on parts. SkySat continues to work with their suppliers to try and pull in deliveries, but we expect delays on this product build to continue for several more weeks. Continue to check the website product page for updates on when this product may ship.
You will not be charged for your order until we are ready to ship. Keeping your place in line does ensure a price lock.
