Welcome to the February 2026 Flex Insider!
FlexRadio staff will be at Hamcation this weekend in Orlando, Florida, and we’d love to see you there!
Come meet the team, talk modern HF, and get a firsthand look at where radio technology is headed, and the FlexRadio Ecosystem.
Join us on Friday from 2:15–3:15 PM for “Where HF Radio Is Going (And What Won’t Change)” with Michael Walker, VA3MW, a not so future-focused look at how software, efficiency, and tight station integration are transforming HF—while the fundamentals of bands, antennas, and propagation remain unchanged for DX, contesting, and emergency communications and more.
Then be sure to come back on Saturday from 2:15–3:15 PM for “The Aurora Transceiver”, presented by Tony Brock-Fisher, K1KP. Tony will share the remarkable story behind Aurora, tracing its roots from a decade-long effort to build a groundbreaking high-efficiency HF transmitter to the production radio it is today.
Two days, two deep-dive talks, and plenty of time to connect with the FlexRadio team—don’t miss it!

COMMERCIAL & GOVERNMENT HF COMMUNICATION
Introducing the FlexRadio CL‑9300:
A New Standard for Commercial & Government HF Communication
FlexRadio is proud to introduce the CL-9300, a next‑generation HF software‑defined radio purpose‑built for the demanding needs of commercial, government, and emergency management organizations.
The CL‑9300 delivers advanced capability for mission‑critical HF operations where reliability and interoperability are non‑negotiable.
Engineered for rapid deployment, the CL‑9300 supports up to 20kHz transmit and 192Khz receive bandwidth, enabling modern waveforms, enhanced spectrum awareness, and seamless coordination across agencies.
Its low‑SWaP architecture and native IP‑based networking make it ideal for field operations, emergency coordination centers, and organizations that depend on resilient BLOS communication — a critical requirement for federal and auxiliary HF programs such as SHARES.
For users who need additional reach or operational flexibility, the CL‑9300 provides +10 dBm exciter outputs compatible with FlexRadio’s FPA‑1K Commercial Series high‑power amplifiers.
While FlexRadio is well known within the amateur radio community, the CL‑9300 stands in a different class—engineered specifically for professional communication environments where rugged reliability, operational durability, and seamless interoperability drive the mission.

Education
We have three unique and engaging talks that we are excited to deliver to your club members.
Each presentation is delivered by Mike VA3MW.
Aurora 500 watt Transceiver. Mike (VA3MW) from FlexRadio will be giving a detailed presentation on the new Aurora HF Series, an exciting advancement in SDR technology. This new platform integrates a high-efficiency 500 W transmitter, amplifier, tuner, and power supply into a single compact unit—bringing high performance and modern design together like never before. Mike will cover how Aurora offers reduced heat, lower power input, and full network control, all while keeping the familiar operating experience FlexRadio users appreciate. It’s a big step forward in the evolution of HF/6m transceivers.
FlexRadio – Not Your Dad’s HF Radio. Our most popular presentation, this talk explores the differences between traditional HF radio using Super Heterodyne Receivers and today’s Software Defined Radios. We’ll showcase and explain the advantages of these advanced technologies. If you have received this one already, then possibly consider one of the other 2.
Getting Started in Remote HF Radio. Remote HF Radio Operation has become mainstream. This presentation is perfect for those planning to set up a remote station or just interested in how easy it is today. We’ll cover radio choices, power control, and more!
If any of the clubs you are associated with would like to schedule a presentation, please reply to this email with your preferred dates and times and the talk you are interested in.
We’ll get it on the calendar for the coming season.
