FlexRadio will allow you to Trade-UP! your existing FLEX-6x00 transceiver to a higher model of your choice. Trade your current FLEX-6x00 transceiver for a new FLEX-6x00 transceiver by simply paying the difference between the price of the new radio and the value of the traded radio. The trade-up value of your radio is subject to the model, age and condition of your transceiver. Upon receipt, inspection and approval of your trade, FlexRadio will subtract the trade value for your radio from the selling price of the new radio to be purchased. Sorry, but this program can not be combined with any other sales discounts or promotions.
The Trade-UP! program is not currently offered to customers outside of the United States. Any trades sent to FlexRadio from outside the United States will be returned to the sender at the sender's expense. FlexRadio is not responsible for shipping charges, non-delivery or damage to trade-in items during shipment. FlexRadio Systems reserves the right to discontinue this program at any time.
The FlexRadio Trade-IN! program functions similar to the Trade-UP! program, but there are a few differences. The age, condition, original accessories (RX2, VU, etc), and current resale prices determine the trade-in value of your radio. The trade-in value of one FLEX Series SDR can then be applied toward the purchase of a new FLEX-6000 series transceiver. Please note that trade-in value will also vary based on which FLEX-6000 Series model and accessories you wish to purchase.

Any radios sent to FlexRadio from outside the United States will be returned to the sender at the sender's expense. FlexRadio is not responsible for shipping charges, non-delivery or damage to trade-in items during shipment. The Trade-IN! All sales and trades are final and are not subject to refunds or returns. The Trade-IN! program is limited to one radio trade-in for each new radio purchased. FlexRadio’s Certified Pre-owned (CP) Program is equipment that has been acquired through FlexRadio’s reverse logistics, demo returns, TradeIn/TradeUp programs and other situational opportunities. Flex’s CPO products, while not “new”, have been processed by our service shop for the following:
- Inspection: Each radio is subjected to a through physical and visual inspection.
- Testing: A comprehensive set of diagnostic tests are performed and the radio is recalibrated.
- Repair: Units that fail any inspection and testing are repaired with the faulty components and boards replaced with genuine parts from FlexRadio’s part inventory. The repaired units are retested and burned-in.
- Restore default configuration: the radio is decommissioned with all previous owner and configuration settings removed and the unit is returned to default settings.
- Upgrades: each radio’s serial number is checked against our database to determine what firmware/hardware upgrades (Engineering Change Orders) are required and then implemented.
- Software: a valid software license is installed if required.
- Cleaning: each unit is thoroughly cleaned and detailed.
- Packaging: each unit is carefully wrapped, placed in a new protective shipping box and sealed in preparation for delivery.
In addition, our CPO products come with a specified limited warranty and on-line HelpDesk support as outlined below:
- FLEX-5000/FLEX-3000/FLEX-1500 90-day limited hardware warranty and on-line HelpDesk support.
- FLEX-6000 Series Radios: One or Two-year limited hardware warranty, phone support and on-line HelpDesk support. Warranty period is model dependent.
- Maestro: 1-year limited hardware warranty, phone support and on-line HelpDesk support.
Limited Warranty details are as follows:
Subject to the terms and conditions set forth below, FlexRadio Systems Certified Pre-Owned products carry a limited warranty that its Certified Pre-Owned product will be materially free from defects under normal use and service for the specified timeframe by radio model number to the customer.
This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship encountered in normal, reasonable use of the product during the warranty period. This warranty does not apply:
- To normal wear and tear;
- If the product has been mistreated or mishandled;
- If the product has been improperly installed or configured;
- If the product has been subject to an accident;
- If the product has been subject to lightning, power surges, incorrect electrical voltage, or any electrical stress;
- If the product has been subject to acts of nature; or
- If the product has been modified from its original condition.
If a product covered by this warranty is claimed to be defective, the customer must follow the warranty return policy described below:
- This warranty does not cover Software products, accessories, cables, special order items or third party hardware/software.
- This warranty only covers Certified Pre-Owned FlexRadio Systems product(s). All partnered manufacturers are excluded from this warranty.
Software Disclaimer for FLEX-5000/FLEX-3000/FLEX-1500 Radios
It is acknowledged by the customer that FlexRadio’s FLEX-5000, FLEX-3000 and FLEX-1500 products are discontinued offerings in the product line and no further software development is occurring on these radios. The radios will ship with the latest version of PowerSDR v2.7.2 with the understanding that no further software upgrades will be provided by FlexRadio Systems on these platforms.
Recommended third party software that continues to provide new features/functionality for your FLEX-5000 or FLEX-3000 product can be found at www.ke9ns.com. FlexRadio Systems does NOT provide HelpDesk or phone support for these third party offerings.
Hardware Disclaimer for FLEX-5000 and FLEX-3000 Radios
The FLEX-5000 and FLEX-3000 products connect to the operators’ personal computer via a FireWire connection. It is recommended that you verify that your computer has an available PCIe expansion slot to use a PCIe to FireWire adapter included with the radio.
Warranty Product Return Policy
If a product covered by this limited warranty is claimed to be defective, the customer must request a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) in accordance with the Returns Procedures set forth below. A defective product received by FlexRadio more than 30 calendar days from the date the RMA is issued will not be accepted by FlexRadio and will not be eligible for repair, replacement or credit.
Warranties, Software, Accessories and Special Order Items are not eligible for warranty return. Please contact FlexRadio Systems if you have any questions about product eligibility for warranty return.
Customer Return Policy: (Non-Defective Products)
If a customer wishes to return a non-defective product, the customer must request an RMA in accordance with the Returns Procedure below. An RMA request will be approved only within 30 calendar days from the date of original invoice for the purchase of the product.
For all RMA requests for non-defective products, other than an error made by FlexRadio Systems, a restocking fee of 15% will be charged to the customer. Except in the case of an error made by FlexRadio Systems, the customer accepts responsibility for the cost of shipping (both original and return shipment).
Customers must return the product in the same condition and packaged in the same manner in which it was received from FlexRadio Systems to the customer. If a product has a seal, and the seal is broken, the product is not returnable.
Products received after 30 calendar days from the RMA create date will not be accepted by FlexRadio and will not be eligible for credit.
IN NO EVENT SHALL FLEXRADIO SYSTEMS LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY EXCEED THE COST OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. THE WARRANTY AND DISCLAIMERS CONSTITUTE FLEXRADIO’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE LIABILITY HEREUNDER AND IS THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND USE FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
IN NO EVENT SHALL FLEXRADIO SYSTEMS OR ITS EMPLOYEES BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES HOWEVER CAUSED AND REGARDLESS OF THEORY OF LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT.
FOR PURPOSES OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, AND AS A RESULT OF THE NATURE OF THE PRODUCTS COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY, THE WARRANTY PERIOD IS DEFINED FROM THE DATE THE PRODUCT IS SHIPPED BY FLEXRADIO SYSTEMS TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER TO THE SPECIFIED END PERIOD OF THE WARRANTY AS DEFINED BY PRODUCT TYPE/MODEL.
Some states do not allow limitations on the length of implied warranties or do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental and consequential damages, so some of the above provisions may not apply to you. Some states provide for additional warranty rights and remedies. The provisions in this limited warranty are not intended to limit, modify, reduce, disclaim or exclude any mandatory requirements provided by states. This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary from state to state.

Return Shipping Instructions:
All equipment must be returned in the same packaging condition in which it was originally delivered and include all accessory items i.e., cables, documentation, cables, etc. Missing accessories or damaged equipment resulting from substandard packaging will be charged to the customer. All product returns must have the RMA number listed on the return packaging slip or external packaging. Specific instructions will be included in your RMA email confirmation.
