  Blogs, Blogs, Blogs...

Below are some blogs from Flexers related to their experiences and observations using  and developing features and capabilities for FlexRadio Systems' software defined radios.

What is blog, you may ask?  Well Wikipedia says a blog is "is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog." Several Flexers have started and maintain blogs related to FlexRadio Systems and their software defined radios and PowerSDR™ software.  Some of those blogs are listed below for those who are interested in what other Flexers are saying about their FlexRadio SDRs.

Software Defined Ham Radio
Lee, W9OY
If you ever wanted to know anything about how FlexRadio Systems software defined radios and PowerSDR, this is the definitive place to check out.  Lee does a fantastic job of blogging about a wide variety of subjects related to the FLEX-5000™.  This blog is a "must read"!

The FLEX-3000™ SDR Adventure
Tim, W4TME
Tim is chronicling his "out of box" experience with the new FLEX-3000 software defined radio.  Tim has named his FLEX-3000 "Junior" (check out the blog to see why) and you can read about Junior's adventures and see pictures if him as well.  Junior's adventures include from the point where "he" shipped from Austin to his on going experience working different phone and digital modes.  Check by often to see the progress on the FLEX-3000 testing and operation.

DDUtil FlexWire™ Adapter
Steve, K5FR
This blog is intended to provide an on-going chronicle of the development of my version of a FlexWire adapter for the Flex Radios equipped with a FlexWire port. The FlexWire adapter is intended to allow users of the FLEX-5000/3000/1500 radios the ability to attach BCD controlled devices to the FlexWire port on the back of their radios. This device can be used to control many types of equipment based on the radio frequency or band selected, including but not limited to:
  • Band switching of µwave transverters and associated apparatus
  • Band switching of Coax switches
  • Linear Amplifier band switching requiring BCD input
  • Antenna stack management (manual)
  • Antenna array steering (manual)
